Pocket Sketching for Travel and At Home
Class Schedule:
Duration: 4 hours (2-hour morning session, 1-hour lunch break, 2-hour afternoon session)

Morning Session (2 Hours):
Introduction to Supplies:
Overview of watercolor paints and sketch pens.
Discussion of the importance of choosing the right supplies for outdoor and garden sketching.
Techniques Covered:
Understanding Perspective: Learn how to create depth in your sketches.
Contrast, Color, and Focal Point: Techniques to enhance your drawings by manipulating light and color.
Choosing your Subject: Tips on how to select a compelling subject and isolate a focal point in your composition.
Basics of Color Theory: Introduction to the color wheel and its application in sketching.
Timed Sketching Exercise:
Engage in timed sketching to develop your ability to capture scenes quickly without overthinking details.
Lunch Break (12 p.m. - 1 p.m.)
Afternoon Session (2 Hours):
Timed Sketching Practice:
Continue practicing timed sketching with various subjects, focusing on applying techniques learned in the morning.
Progress Review:
Use mats to display finished sketches, encouraging participants to reflect on their progress and ask questions.
Final Exercise:
Conclude the class with a Still Life Sketch of live flowers, allowing participants to apply their learned skills in a more detailed study.
