James Spurlock - X Painting Workshop
James R.Spurlock has painted and sculpted his way to a very fulfilling niche for himself in the art world. Today he is a teacher as well as an artist who passes on his experience in art to many seminar and private students across the country. This workshop will teach you an impressive system of “X” pattern blocking, which can be modified for use in all forms of drawing portraiture, animals, and landscape. The is an internal measurement of creating compositions which leads to wonderful paintings
The class begins at 9am and ends at 4pm, with an hour long lunch. Bring your lunch or buy your lunch at a local restaurant. In and Out Burgers, Chick-fil-a, Torchy’s Tacos and other restaurants are just minutes away.
Supply list:
- 18” x 24” newsprint pad
- 24” x 24” drawing board with big sprint clips to hold pad on sketch board
- Vine or willow charcoal
- Kneaded or gum erasers
- Oil or acrylics medium you normally use to paint
- 3 canvas or canvas boards no bigger than 18x24”
- Portrait and landscape source material will be provided.
