History Talks: Fact Checking for Fictional Novels

May is Historic Preservation Month and we're kicking it off with this year's second History Talks! Join us for History Talks: Fact Checking for Fictional Novels at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at the Man House Museum, 604 W. Broad St. As part of Historic Preservation Month, D. Preston Davidson, author of the Nahum Putney books, will be speaking about the research he's done into local history for his novels.

D. Preston Davidson is a retired Deputy U.S. Marshal who spent 31 years in law enforcement and has hunted fugitives across the United States. Mr. Davidson is a native of Texas and has either lived or worked in every part of the state. He writes Western fiction, drawing on his love of Texas history and his experience in law enforcement to tell the story of Nahum Putney, a U.S. Marshal in the post war years of the 1800s.

This event is free and while no registration is required, seats will be first come, first served. If you have any questions, please call 817-728-3325.
