Art Therapy Workshops with Heidi Tournoux Studios
From intricate dyed patterns, to graphic t-shirts, the clothing we wear is a direct statement of our personalities and even our deeper cultural roots. In this workshop, participants will learn and practice using 3 types of textile decorating techniques, as well as will gain an understanding of how historically- and even currently- our textiles can tell stories about our lives. Participants will be contacted a few days before the workshop to ensure that we have correct sizes available to create our wearable art pieces. This topic is one way to increase our cultural competencies, as well as teach new ways of telling stories with our clients, friends, and colleagues. Our workshop host, Heidi Tournoux-Hanshaw is a board certified, registered art therapist, and a licensed professional counselor supervisor, and this workshop qualifies for 3 Texas LPC CEs, though everyone is welcome to participate, even non-CE seeking participants.
