Arts Week 2020

Arts Week is back for its second year in Mansfield from March 6 - 9, 2020! 

It's sure to be even better than the first and will be jam-packed with arts events from theatrical productions and live music to special art displays and our amazing Kid's Day.

Best of all, this year's event will take place during spring break, giving families something fun and inspiring to do with those days off.

Thursday March 5th

Mansfield Reads! (Pre-Arts Week Kickoff Party)
Time: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Location: Market Street
The countdown to Mansfield's 2020 celebration of the literary arts begins with this reception for local book lovers as the kickoff for their annual Mansfield Reads! One City, One Book event. 
There will be hors d'oeuvres, activities, and live music provided by the Mansfield Wind Symphony. 


Friday, March 6th

Magnificent Theatre Co. presents "A Fractured Fairy Tale: Jack and the Beanstalk"
Time: 11:00 am - noon
Location: Farr Best Theater     *Art by Van Hutchinson will be displayed in the Farr Best lobby throughout Arts Week and the month of March
Details: Come see this side-splitting original, adaptation of the classic story. Perfect for audiences of all ages.

MPM Studio Theater presents a dramatic reading of "Big Girl's Guide To Love"
Time: 8:00 pm
Location: Music Place Mansfield
Details: A dramatic reading of the new, original play "Big Girl's Guide To Love". This script was chosen as the winner of MPM Studio Theater's first ever playwright competition.


Saturday, March 7th

Puppet Show presented by Mainstage Classic Theatre
Time: 10:30 am and 1:00 pm
Location: 107 N. Main Street next to the Farr Best Theater

Watch a fun performance followed by hands on experience with the puppets. This is not only fun but a great learning experience.The goal of puppetry is to communicate with the audience--using the medium to tell a story and provide entertainment with script and music.
Free to the public, each show will last approximately 30 minutes

Historic Downtown Walking Tour
Time: 2:00 pm
Location: Mansfield Historical Museum & Heritage Center
Details: Join the Museum on an hour-long guided tour of Main Street and learn about the historical and architectural significance of the buildings on the historic block. Tours are free of charge and will begin at the Mansfield Historical Museum.

Kameryn

Location: Flying Squirrel Coffee Shop - N. Main street across from the Farr Best Theater
Join local singer Kameryn as she performs some of her original music as well as cover songs. 

Family Movie Night: Toy Story 4
Time: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Location: The LOT Downtown
Details: Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and snacks out for a family movie night under the stars at The LOT Downtown.

Location: The Bays on Smith Street
Nibble on light refreshments and enjoy piano music by Mansfield musician Lee Harbaugh while viewing a variety of beautiful art from 6-12 local artists. Artists will be on-site to answer questions and tell you about their work; art will be available for purchase. Come on out and see some great works of art and support these area artists:

Mansfield Philharmonic presents "Peter and the Wolf"
